Pregnancy, birth and postnatal support in the Northwest
Pre
The Down to Earth Doula brings calm, practical and emotional support through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood. My care is grounded, uncomplicated and focused on what truly matters — helping you feel seen, supported, and confident every step of the way.

About me
Hi I'm Lizz, I live in Manchester with my two teenage boys, a football loving husband and a greedy Beagle named Bob.
Down-to-Earth Support (What That Really Means)
I keep things simple, honest, and relatable.
We'll talk about birth and what life with a baby is really like — not the polished version.
I want you to thrive, not just survive.
No pressure. No expectations.
Just real, practical support.
I'm a calm, steady presence for families through pregnancy, birth and those early newborn days.
-
No question is silly or embarrassing
-
You'll always be listened to
-
You'll never feel judged
My role is to help you feel reassured, informed and confident
How I Can Help;
Every parent's journey is different and support can look like many things.
It might include:
-
Building confidence for labour
-
Education in simple understandable language
-
Support with feeding (including pumping or hand expressing)
-
Guidance through your baby's first bath
-
Planning your first outings with your baby
-
Talking through worries, questions, or "what ifs"
I'll always meet you where you are - not where you feel you should be.
My Background
I’ve spent 10 years working as an Occupational Therapist (OT), which means I bring:
-
Practical problem-solving
-
Flexible, real-life thinking
-
Clear, honest communication
I'm here to support you in a way that feels human and grounded — never clinical.
My Community Work
Alongside my work as a doula and OT, I've spent years supporting families in a practical, behind-the-scenes way.
I developed and managed a baby bank as part of a wider charity, helping provide essential items to families through referrals from health professionals.
I know how much support can matter during challenging times.
I was honoured to receive an MBE for services to families in the community, recognising this work.
That same belief that the right support can make all the difference -is at the heart of how I care for the families I work with now.
My Values
I believe everyone deserves compassionate, respectful care.
A portion of every session you purchase supports the Ezer Initiative (more info in menu), helping provide practical, non medical support to those who might otherwise miss out
